Welcome to Nocturnity Bookstore

Nocturnity Bookstore is a site dedicated to the written works of Scott Blasingame, the author of "The Warrior-Son" trilogy and "The NightDragon" series, as well as other fictional and nonfictional works.

An avid reader since childhood, his primary influences are Zane Grey, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and Robert E. Howard, but he also enjoys biographies, autobiographies, ancient history, and the works of Dennis Lehane, Lee Child, Andrew Vachss, Stephen King, and Robert McCammon, to name a few. He also believes comic books are a form of literature. He is a film buff, especially of the martial arts genre, and a big fan of animation fare. He has worked as a land surveyor and photographer, and at one point studied Northern Shaolin Kung Fu for almost 10 years.

As a writer, he strives to bring forth and develop interesting characters, plots filled with tension and intrigue, and thrilling action scenes with intricate fight sequences that take the reader into the heart of combat. He also likes to construct heroic characters with a sense of morality and honor, though still subject to moments of flawed human decisions and actions.

Paperbacks and ebooks are available through Amazon. (Links provided at the top and with each individual book page.)

The Warrior-Son Trilogy

THE WARRIOR-SON TRILOGY is now complete!!!

Enter a land populated by tribes of people and warriors only twelve inches tall. Their cultures are based on the flora or fauna they govern. Thus, some dwell in cities and villages beneath canopies of kudzu or wisteria, or on the side of a mountain. Some ride hawks, armadillos, raccoons, foxes, and even snakes. Some tribes even have the physical attributes of the animals they are named for. However, regardless of their diminutive size, they are fierce fighters.

It is a saga with both endearing and loathsome characters, acts of betrayal, desires for vengeance, strong friendships, humor and wit, and the heartache of love and romance. An epic tale of suspense, excitement, adventure, and incredible martial arts action!!!

What Readers Say About Nocturnity Books

You can find all of my reviews on Amazon and/or GoodReads. Here are a few reviews (or snippets thereof) to give you an idea of what other readers thought.

THE ACT - This book is exceedingly deceptive, it sucks you in before you know it and before you even realise what genre it is. By then you are too invested in the characters and story to stop. Very cleverly written and will definitely raise those goosebumps on your skin.

Raven - Goodreads

WOLF & WITCH - I picked this book up at a local con and was pleasantly surprised at how well written this book was. From the very first chapter, I was immediately sucked into the story. The characters were very real and relatable. The dialogue was witty and the storyline was very intriguing. As someone descended from Native Americans, I love how respectful the author treated the history and the cultures of the characters. He beautiful blended the Greek mythology, witchcraft, werewolf and Native America lore into one seamless, complex but cohesive story. Highly recommend!! I’m hoping there will be a second book.

Michele Byars - Goodreads

The NightDragon: Enter the NightDragon is Scott Blasingame's tribute to both the vigilante superhero genre (like Batman and Daredevil), the kung fu superhero genre (like Shang Chi and Iron Fist) and old school kung fu movies. Fans of all three of those genres, plus fans of action in general who are tired of YA books about love triangles between zombies, vampires, werewolves, angels, devils, oppressed dystopian inhabitants and what have you should find A LOT to like in this action-packed adventure.

But Blasingame doesn't forget to give us characters that we truly care about. Chen and his two associates, Tai and Lei, are enigmatic, but likable. They work together, discuss their problems, work out their differences, and are ultimately symbols of loyalty. The major supporting players among the police, Sonya Gunn and Detective Bittern, are also charismatic, despite their efforts to want to stop NightDragon from pursuing his quest for vigilante justice. You end up really caring for these people as the story progresses.

Blake Matthews - Goodreads & Amazon

The Warrior Son is a constantly moving story, from the beginning competition through the quest, with engaging characters you begin to care about from the beginning. The betrayals were unexpected, the relationships were achingly slow to develop (in a good way), and the fight scenes were second to none.

The book was delightful to read and imagine, the scenes and characters are vividly described, so much so you could imagine them running around your own yard beneath the grass that will grow tall as you find yourself unable to pull yourself away to go and mow (true story - ha!). Pick this book up and give it a read. I think you'll lose yourself in it for hours.
